Visual Studio 2012

John Tobe

MS doesn’t sell Visual Studio 2010 through their website anymore; is it possible to compile plugins against the Opticks sdk with 2012?

I haven’t tried this yet but based on experience past versions of VS it is unlikely to work. In past versions the C++ heaps have been different when using multiple versions of the rtl and this causes crashes.

Based on past experience and changes to STL containers in VS 2012 [1] I would be shocked and amazed if plug-ins compiled and ran correctly.

Good to know.  The contractor I was supporting has managed to get a copy of VS 2010 professional. :)
