A while ago I put a port of Opticks to Linux in trunk/Linux. It hasn't
been updated in quite some time and I'm wondering if anybody has done
anything with this?

Hi Trevor,

sorry for the late reply, hope it is still useful.
As an rs image analysis programmer (SarVision) i'm always interested in
new toolboxes/api's to ease my work, which is why I had expressed
interest in opticks' linux support. Soon after you put the port online,
I have succeeded in building it (which was pretty tricky by the way, but
you'll know that for sure...) and tried it. Though it does not (yet)
immediately offer processing features that are of direct interest to me,
I have used it several times as a raster image viewing and annotation
tool. Especially the annotation feature has been very helpful in an
interactive ground-truth discussion session. (Pitty that when printing
the annotations did not scale very well).

So to conclude: I have built and tried it, and though it is not of great
use yet I have enjoyed some of its features. I am surely interested in
following it's development though we probably won't use it as a image
processing tool soon. I rely on linux support, though I could test newer
versions on a colleages windows pc in the mean time.

Cheers,

Thanks for the reply. I'll do what I can to update the port on occasion
until we can come up with a better long term solution. The current line
(4.2.x) is pretty stable so I'll likely update the linux port in the
next couple of months.
